Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda and set aside.
  3. Grate stick of butter.
  4. Use hands to work butter into dry mixture until small crumbs form.
  5. Whisk sour cream, egg, and vanilla in separate bowl.
  6. Add to flour mixture and mix with a spatula until it forms a wet dough.
  7. Pour dough onto a floured surface and work into a ball.
  8. Place dough on floured baking sheet and freeze for 10 minutes.
  9. Cut dough into 8 triangles and separate so that they’re at least 2 inches apart.
  10. Freeze for an additional 10 minutes.
  11. Bake for 17-20 minutes.
  12. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  13. Whisk powdered sugar and water together and drizzle over scones.
